Evening prayer, Friday 15th August 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Psalm 122
<\/strong>Holy city Jerusalem<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, heavenly Jerusalem<\/em> (Hebrews 12:22).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I rejoiced when I heard them say: *
\u201cLet us go to God\u2019s house.\u201d
And now our feet are standing *
within your gates, O Jerusalem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jerusalem is built as a city *
strongly compact.
It is there that the tribes go up, *
the tribes of the Lord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Israel\u2019s law it is, *
there to praise the Lord\u2019s name.
There were set the thrones of judgment *
of the house of David.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the peace of Jerusalem pray: *
\u201cPeace be to your homes!
May peace reign in your walls, *
in your palaces, peace!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For love of my brethren and friends *
I say: \u201cPeace upon you.\u201d
For love of the house of the Lord *
I will ask for your good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, *
and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, *
and will be for ever.
