Salm 23 (24)

Dħul il-Mulej fit-tempju tiegħu
Il-bibien tas-smewwiet infetħu għal Kristu fit-tlugħ tiegħu fis-sema bħala bniedem. (S. Irinew)

Tal-Mulej hi l-art u kulma fiha, *
id-dinja u kulma jgħix fiha.
Għax hu fuq l-ibħra waqqafha, *
u fuq ix-xmajjar fis-sod qegħedha.

Min jista’ jitla’ fuq l-għolja tal-Mulej, *
min joqgħod fil-post imqaddes tiegħu?
Min għandu jdejh indaf u qalbu safja, †
min ma jagħtix ruħu għall-frugħa *
u anqas ma jaħlef bil-qerq.
Dan ikollu barka mingħand il-Mulej, *
u l-ħlas li ħaqqu minn Alla, is-Salvatur tiegħu.
Dan hu n-nisel ta’ dawk li jfittxuh, *
li jfittxu ’l wiċċek, Alla ta’ Ġakobb.

Intrefgħu, bibien, infetħu, intom bibien ta’ dejjem, *
ħalli jidħol is-Sultan tal-glorja!
Min hu dan is-Sultan tal-glorja? *
Hu l-Mulej setgħan u qawwi,
il-Mulej qawwi fit-taqbida.

Intrefgħu, bibien, infetħu, intom bibien ta’ dejjem, *
ħalli jidħol is-Sultan tal-glorja!
Min hu dan is-Sultan tal-glorja? *
Hu l-Mulej tal-eżerċti: dan hu s-Sultan tal-glorja!

Glorja.

Ant. 1: Min jista’ jitla’ fuq l-għolja tal-Mulej, min joqgħod fil-post imqaddes tiegħu?

Ant. 2: Bierku, popli, lil Alla tagħna, li jżommna fost il-ħajjin, hallelujah.

Psalm 24
The Lord’s entry into his temple

Christ opened heaven for us in the manhood he assumed (St. Irenaeus).

The Lord’s is the earth and its fullness, *
the world and all its peoples.
It is he who set it on the seas; *
on the waters he made it firm.

Who shall climb the mountain of the Lord? *
Who shall stand in his holy place?
The man with clean hands and pure heart, †
who desires not worthless things, *
who has not sworn so as to deceive his neighbor.

He shall receive blessings from the Lord *
and reward from the God who saves him.
Such are the men who seek him, *
seek the face of the God of Jacob.

O gates, lift high your heads; †
grow higher, ancient doors. *
Let him enter, the king of glory!

Who is the king of glory? †
The Lord, the mighty, the valiant, *
the Lord, the valiant in war.

O gates, lift high your heads; †
grow higher, ancient doors. *
Let him enter, the king of glory!

Who is he, the king of glory? †
He, the Lord of armies, *
he is the king of glory.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, *
and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, *
and will be for ever. Amen.
