Għaldaqstant, jekk it-talb huwa relazzjoni, filwaqt li jista’ jkun hemm metodi ta’ talb, però t-talb fih innifsu mhuwiex metodu, bħalma m’hemmx riċetti fissi u lesti għall-ħbiberiji. It-talb hu marbut ma’ metodu inkwantu huwa triq u mhux skema lesta. Il-kelma metodu ġejja mill-Grieg u hi magħmula minn żewġ kelmiet, meta u hodos, u li flimkien ifissru t-tfittxija ta’ triq. Jekk it-triq f’dan il-każ hija t-triq tat-talb, il-metodi differenti ta’ talb huma biss mezzi, toroq, u hemm ħafna mezzi skont il-ħiliet u l-karattru tal-persuna. U daqqa nużaw metodu u jaħdem, u daqqa nużaw l-istess metodu u ma jesprimix dak li jkun hemm fil-qalb tagħna. Hu x’inhu l-mod kif nitolbu, l-għan hu l-istess: il-mixja id f’id fit-triq tal-ħajja ma’ Alla.
Aħna kultant naħsbu li t-talb ifisser kemm ser inparla b’mod sabiħ ma’ Alla. Fil-verità, Alla m’għandux bżonn il-kliem tagħna. Il-kliem hu meħtieġ għax jgħinna nesprimu ruħna. Aħna ħlejjaq lingwistiċi u niddependu mill-kliem biex infissru dak li għaddej ġewwa fina. Nitolbu billi nifformulaw talbiet bil-kliem għax il-kliem tagħna jgħinna npoġġu l-ordni fix-xewqat tagħna, nagħtuhom prijorità skont ma jistħoqqilhom, u ftit ftit nibdew inħarsu lejhom u nifhmuhom bil-mod kif iħares lejhom u jifhimhom Alla. Eventwalment fit-talb jiġri bħal meta tnaddaf in-nuċċali: qabel u wara tkun qed tħares lejn l-istess realtà, imma, wara li tnaddaf in-nuċċali, tibda tara l-affarijiet b’mod iktar ċar. Permezz tat-talb, ftit ftit tibda tara r-realtà kif jaraha Alla, u hemmhekk imbagħad it-talb isir esperjenza li tagħtik il-paċi u l-ferħ ġenwin.
