Salm 65 (66)

(I) Innu għas-sagrifiċċju ta’ radd il-ħajr
Salm għall-qawmien tal-Mulej mill-imwiet u l-konverżjoni tal-popli. (Esikju)

Għajtu bil-ferħ lil Alla, *
bnedmin tad-dinja kollha;
għannu s-sebħ ta’ ismu, *
xandru s-sebħ u t-tifħir tiegħu.
Għidu lil Alla: *
“Kemm int tal-biża’ f’għemilek!
Għall-kobor tal-qawwa tiegħek *
jitilfu l-ħila quddiemek l-għedewwa tiegħek.
L-art kollha tagħtik qima, *
tgħannilek u tgħanni lil ismek.”

Ejjew, araw l-għemejjel ta’ Alla; *
tal-biża’ f’għemilu fost il-bnedmin.
Biddel il-baħar f’art niexfa, †
għaddew bil-mixi minn nofs ix-xmara. *
Għalhekk, nifirħu bih!
Hu jsaltan bil-kobor tiegħu għal dejjem; †
b’għajnejh fuq il-ġnus jgħasses;
ma jerfgħux rashom in-nies xewwiexa.

Bierku, popli, lil Alla tagħna, *
semmgħu l-għana tat-tifħir tiegħu.
Hu li jżommna fost il-ħajjin, *
u ma jħallix riġlejna jogħtru.

Għax int, o Alla, ġarrabtna, *
għaddejtna mill-prova bħall-fidda.
Ħallejtna naqgħu fix-xibka, *
issikkajtilna bi ħżiem ġenbejna.
Ħallejt in-nies jirkbu fuq rasna, †
għaddejtna min-nar u mill-ilma; *
iżda mbagħad ħriġtna fil-wisa’.

Glorja.

Ant. 2: Bierku, popli, lil Alla tagħna, għax hu żammni fost il-ħajjin, hallelujah.

Ant. 3: Ejjew, isimgħu, u ngħidilkom x’għamel miegħi l-Mulej, hallelujah.

Psalm 66
Eucharistic Hymn

The Lord is risen and all people have been brought by him to the Father (Hesychius).

I

Cry out with joy to God all the earth, *
O sing to the glory of his name.
O render him glorious praise. *
Say to God: “How tremendous are your deeds!

Because of the greatness of your strength *
your enemies cringe before you.
Before you all the earth shall bow, *
shall sing to you, sing to your name!”

Come and see the works of God, *
tremendous his deeds among men.
He turned the sea into dry land, *
they passed through the river dry-shod.

Let our joy then be in him; *
he rules for ever by his might.
His eyes keep watch over the nations: *
let rebels not rise against him.

O peoples, bless our God; *
let the voice of his praise resound,
of the God who gave life to our souls *
and kept our feet from stumbling.

For you, O God, have tested us, *
you have tried us as silver is tried;
you led us, God, into the snare; *
you laid a heavy burden on our backs.

You let foes ride over our heads; †
we went through fire and through water *
but then you brought us relief.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, *
and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, *
and will be for ever. Amen.

Ant. Give glory to God, all you nations, for he has restored my soul to life, alleluia.

Ant. 3 Come and hear what the Lord has done for me, alleluia.
