Salm 117 (118)

(I) Għajjat ta’ ferħ u rebħ
Din hi l-ġebla mwarrba minnkom il-bennejja, li saret il-ġebla tax-xewka. (Atti 4:11)

Faħħru l-Mulej, għaliex hu tajjeb, *
għax għal dejjem it-tjieba tiegħu!

Ħa jgħidu wlied Iżrael: *
“Għal dejjem it-tjieba tiegħu.”
Ħa tgħid dar Aron: *
“Għal dejjem it-tjieba tiegħu.”
Ħa jgħidu dawk li jibżgħu mill-Mulej: *
“Għal dejjem it-tjieba tiegħu.”

Sejjaħt il-Mulej fid-dwejjaq tiegħi; *
u l-Mulej weġibni, u ħariġni fil-wisa’.
La l-Mulej miegħi, m’għandix għax nibża’; *
x’jista’ jagħmilli l-bniedem?
Il-Mulej miegħi, hu l-għajnuna tiegħi, *
u nħares b’wiċċi minn quddiem
lejn l-għedewwa tiegħi.

Aħjar tistkenn fil-Mulej *
milli tittama fil-bnedmin.
Aħjar tistkenn fil-Mulej *
milli tittama fil-kbarat.

Glorja.

Ant. 1: Ħa jgħidu wlied Iżrael: Għal dejjem it-tjieba tiegħu, hallelujah.

Ant. 2: Il-Mulej kien għalija s-salvazzjoni tiegħi, hallelujah.

Psalm 118
Song of joy for salvation

This Jesus is the stone which, rejected by you builders, has become the chief stone supporting all the rest (Acts 4:11).

I

Give thanks to the Lord for he is good, *
for his love endures for ever.

Let the sons of Israel say: *
“His love endures for ever.”
Let the sons of Aaron say: *
“His love endures for ever.”
Let those who fear the Lord say: *
“His love endures for ever.”

I called to the Lord in my distress; *
he answered and freed me.
The Lord is at my side; I do not fear. *
What can man do against me?
The Lord is at my side as my helper: *
I shall look down on my foes.

It is better to take refuge in the Lord *
than to trust in men:
it is better to take refuge in the Lord *
than to trust in princes.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, *
and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, *
and will be for ever. Amen.

Ant. Let the sons of Israel say: His love endures for ever, alleluia.
