Salm 18A (19A)

Tifħir il-Mulej fil-ħolqien tiegħu
Alla tagħna mill-għoli ġie jżurna bħax-xemx tiegħla, biex imexxi l-passi tagħna fit-triq tas-sliem. (Lq 1:78-79) 

Is-smewwiet ixandru l-glorja ta’ Alla, *
għemil idejh tħabbar il-firxa tas-sema.
Jum lill-ieħor jagħti l-aħbar. *
Lejl lill-ieħor iwassal it-tagħrif. 

Ma hemmx aħbar u lanqas kliem, *
ma hemmx leħen li ma jinstemax.
Mal-art kollha jasal leħinhom, *
mad-dinja kollha jinxtered kliemhom. 

Lix-xemx għamlilha għarix fihom; †
u hi, bħal għarus ħiereġ minn kamartu, *
ferħana bħal ġgant għall-ġirja tagħha,
minn tarf is-smewwiet hi toħroġ, †
sat-truf l-oħra d-dawran tagħha; *
xejn ma jinħeba mis-sħana tagħha. 

Glorja.

Ant. 1: Mal-art kollha jasal leħinhom, mad-dinja kollha jinxtered kliemhom, hallelujah.

Ant. 2: Għemil il-Mulej ixandru, u jifhmu sewwa kulma għamel, hallelujah.

Psalm 19A
Praise the Lord, Creator of all

The dawn from on high shall break upon us … to guide our feet into the way of peace (Luke 1:78, 79).

The heavens proclaim the glory of God *
and the firmament shows forth the work of his hands.
Day unto day takes up the story *
and night unto night makes known the message.

No speech, no word, no voice is heard
yet their span extends through all the earth, *
their words to the utmost bounds of the world.

There he has placed a tent for the sun;
it comes forth like a bridegroom coming from his tent, *
rejoices like a champion to run its course.

At the end of the sky is the rising of the sun;
to the furthest end of the sky is its course. *
There is nothing concealed from its burning heat.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, *
and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, *
will be for ever. Amen.
